Polymerase Chain Reaction aka PCR is one of the most promising test to diagnose TB.

Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by bacteria named Mycobacterium tuberculosis

(MTB). PCR is a simple and rapid test used for detection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis

because it amplifies a DNA sequence which is unique to mycobacteria. In PCR, short

sections of DNA are converted into large copies in a process known as amplifying of DNA.

It enables specific genes of interest to be detected or measured. After the results of the test, a

doctor is able to diagnose and prescribe a patient with medication for TB which in turn aids

any irreversible damage.
